Neighborhood Democrats of Galveston County

Neighborhood Democrats is a group of active and caring individuals who believe government works best with citizen involvement. We can alter our destiny when we choose to participate and get others involved. Neighborhood Democrats' purpose is to: identify and engage Democrats in a friendly forum; work to get Democrats, and those who hold Democratic beliefs, elected; support our elected officials; maintain an active and visible presence in the county. Join us and help make a difference in Galveston County. Government is what participating citizens make it.

Our guest speaker is your club director, Andy Hailey. As discussed during our GOTV fund raiser in January, I will continue discussing in more detail the topics I outlined during that event. We need to better understand our political opponent and what they know about communicating to their base and others. We need to learn how to communicate to our base and others so they not only vote for Dems but Democratic party candidates inspire them to vote. A video will be shown! Also all of the candidates who won in the Democratic Primary on March 1, 2016 who wish to speak to us and how we can help them win in November.
The local campaign organizer for Hillary, candidate Lloyd Criss for Texas HD-23, Michael Cole for 14th Congressional District of Texas, Cornel Walker for District 10 Judge and whoever shows up will give us current candidate status. All candidates are welcome to introduce themselves to the group and speak.

Our volunteer membership director has called our list of former members and updated our lists get them to re-join the club but
we are still in need of a Permanent Membership Director to grow our team and help identify other leaders for the club.
The status of the local BattleGround Texas (BGTX) team will also be provided.
All candidates are welcome to introduce themselves to the group and speak.

VOTE BY Mail FundRaiser

Fellow Galveston Democrats,
Last year we raised over $4,100 to send out applications to senior Democrats across the county so they could easily apply to vote by mail. The success of this effort was demonstrated by the number of mail-in ballots submitted for the Texas primary - we sent shock waves through the county and city governments with the increased volume of applications and then matched the number of Republican mail-in ballots during the primary.
It’s time to further expand our voting impact in Galveston county. The November election needs Democratic votes more than ever to tell our elected officials we want something done about the decades of economic, social, racial, and environmental injustices perpetrated by the Republicans and their excessively wealthy friends. This is especially true in Texas.
The Texas Democratic Party has launched a second phase of this campaign to grow the number of Democrats voting by mail. Our goal is to reach an additional 8,265 Democratic seniors, which we can do for the bargain price of $3,500, thanks to the bulk printing and mailing provided by the TDP. Remember, our path to victory depends on getting our Democratic base, and those who lean Democratic, to VOTE!
As you did so generously before the primary election, please help with our latest county effort to Get Out The Vote (GOTV) by contributing either by check or ActBlue no later than 9/15/2016:

In 1913, a young unschooled Indian clerk wrote a letter to G H Hardy, begging the preeminent English mathematician's opinion on several ideas he had about numbers. Realizing the letter was the work of a genius, Hardy arranged for Srinivasa Ramanujan to come to England. Thus began one of the most improbable and productive collaborations ever chronicled. Though Srinivasa had almost no formal training in pure mathematics, he made extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series and continued fractions. Ramanujan's creative intensity took its toll: he died at the age of thirty-two and left behind a magical and inspired legacy that is still being plumbed for its secrets today.
