Important Notice from the Neighborhood Democrats
The Neighborhood Democrats are proud to announce that we have moved our meeting
location to Peppers Beef and Seafood on I 45 Northbound @ FM 518 in the Kroger
shopping center. The street address is 220 Gulf Fwy. S. The meeting time is
still 7 PM and still on the 3rd Monday of the Month. Please join us for our
Second meeting there on May 19th.
Those wishing to order food from the menu should arrive at 6:15 to assure
service before the meeting starts at 7:00. Those wishing to order beverages
should arrive at 6:45. There is no requirement to purchase anything.
The first meeting held on April 21, turned into a dinner
meeting with many attendees enjoying light snacks to full meals.
Peppers Beef and Seafood has been host to several Democratic Party and Candidate
events. We had our very successful tribute to the Silverman's there and they are
good Democrats themselves. They are very conveniently located to attract
democrats from all over the county to attend.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 7:00 PM. Senatorial District 11 State Democratic Convention Delegates Meeting, Steelworkers Union Hall, 2327 Texas Ave., Texas City.
The Galveston County Democratic Party invites the Democratic delegates to meet at 7:00 pm for a planning meeting. Be prepared to go to the convention or have your alternate there to take your place.

Thursday, May 15, 2008, 7:00 PM. Statewide Judicial Candidates Meet and Greet, Steelworkers Union Hall, 2327 Texas Ave., Texas City.
The Galveston County Democratic Party invites the public and local Democrats to meet and greet the Democratic Judicial Candidates for Texas Supreme Court, Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the First and Fourteenth Courts of Appeals. Judge Susan Criss, 212th District Court, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Galveston County Democrat Party Fundraiser and Benefit for the Galveston County District Judges and Candidate will be held at the Doyle Center in Texas City, TX. Rib Eye Steak and Shrimp Buffet, will be served at fancy sit down dinner. Donation $40.00 per person. Come help our great Democrat District Judges and Candidate to victory this November. Dear fellow Democrat,
The excitement of our outstanding candidates running in races from the White House to the court house continues to energize Democrats all across Texas. Now, attention is turning to the upcoming State Democratic Convention. This year, the Convention will be held in the heart of downtown Austin at the Austin Convention Center on June 6th and 7th. Even if you were not elected as a Delegate or Alternate, there are still exciting opportunities for you to participate in the Convention, and I hope you will be able to join the more than 15,000 Delegates, Alternates, elected officials and guests we expect in Austin as part of this historic moment for Texas Democrats.
Two of the biggest draws at the Convention are our Kick Off Reception on the evening of June 5th at the Austin Hilton and the Blue Star Breakfast on the morning of June 7th at the Austin Convention Center. These events offer the chance to meet fellow Democrats from all over the state, mingle with Texas Democrats, be part of the Convention excitement, and support the Texas Democratic Party.
The Kick Off Reception is the first official event of the Convention, and will feature a special performance from Austin musical icons Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison. The Blue Star Breakfast is always a highlight of the Convention and will feature a seated breakfast and a distinguished Democratic speaker, to be announced. Best of all, tickets to both the Reception and Breakfast are available for the public, so even if you weren't elected as a Delegate or an Alternate, you can still participate in these exciting Convention events.
Special discounts are available at both the Kick Off Reception and the Blue Star Breakfast for our Texas Majority Builders. Texas Majority Builders are the sustaining members of the Party and contribute at least $10 a month. As the financial backbone of our Party, Majority Builders fund the day-to-day operations of the Party, our state-of-the-art voter file, the Texas VAN, and critical voter turnout programs. Majority Builders Tickets are inexpensive, and like all TDP fundraisers, reduced prices are available for Texas Majority Builders, the Party's sustaining members who give at least $10 a month.
